Power Minister Visits Taraba State to Accelerate Pre-activities Leading to Mambilla Power Project Construction
Desirous to get the 3050MW Mambilla Power Project underway, the Minister of Power, Mr Sale Mamman has visited the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Arch Darius Ishaku and strategized on ways to overcome challenges militating the commencement of the potentially biggest power station in West Africa.
In a series of tweets, the Minister of Power described his meeting with the governor as successful as they mapped strategies to resolve challenges delaying the formal take off of the actual construction.
Earlier, the Federal Government had released the sum of N1.2b for various survey works and sensitization of all stakeholders in the areas to be affected by the power station construction.
The media assistant to the Minister, Aaron Artimas, had informed that the state government would be organizing stakeholders meetings with land owners and community leaders to fast track necessary documentation and payments of compensations for the land.
According to Artimas, the Minister was interested in ensuring that all impediments are rolled back for the construction of the power station to commence in earnest.
