Abandoned Power Projects in Nigeria to be Completed – Minister of Power
The Minister of Power, Mr Sale Mamman has pledged to complete and commission several abandoned power transmission projects located in various parts of the country.
The Minister said completing and commissioning the power projects was among the priority assignments he was given by President Buhari when he assumed duty in August 2019 and declared that he was going to realize this onerous desire of the President in order to also advance the positive power experiences of the people.
As part of the strategies to realize the ambition, the Minister along with the new MD of TCN and representatives of other relevant agencies have identified these abandoned projects and also commenced meeting with the project contractors with the purpose of actualizing them. Such meetings were held last week with contractors of three abandoned projects in Mbalano, Okigwe and Ohafia in the South East.
According to the Minister, the idea is to complete and commission some of these substations before the middle of 2021.
